Aulds Factory Rises Out of the Flames

After a fire at Aulds Bakery, SGB Rovacabin designed and installed temporary accommodation allowing the production lines to be up and running in just five weeks - a fraction of the "down-time" which would have been necessary if traditional building methods were used.

In order that the Aulds personnel could be back to work as soon as possible, SGB Rovacabin was drafted in to supply its highly versatile modular units for use as a development kitchen, a laboratory, office space and a staff area, including changing rooms and canteen.

The units, once in place were linked to a large industrial structure by DeBoer, which provided the production facility.

The temporary structures remained in place until summer 2007 while renovation and rebuilding took place, however the Company has managed to maintain its manufacturing schedules which otherwise would have been delayed.

Donald Burt, production director with Aulds, comments: "It's business as usual. The temporary structures are a very good replacement for the existing facility. We have the space for our various requirements and the units comply with the regulations and our quality control standards."

SGB's Rovacabin modular buildings are ideal for both temporary and longer-term accommodation with all the required services needed for a comfortable and productive environment. The buildings can be extended, rearranged or even relocated allowing your space to grow, move or shrink within days and are ideal for commercial, educational or industrial applications.

SGB Rovacabin and DeBoer have worked closely together to provide a range of temporary structures for use in many general renovations, including Strathclyde University and Selkirk Rugby Club.
